I love to play with a variety of materials when I’m creating artwork! If my original prints don’t live up to my expectations, I alter them into a totally new composition.
Sometimes an original prints will sit in a drawer for a couple of years before I figure out what direction to follow. Every January through March I pull out all my misfit children and turn them into totally new compositions, usually collages / mixed media.
I believe that the artwork is waiting for me to develop my skills and that’s when the magic happens! It helps having an open mind and the courage to destroy one piece of artwork to make exciting discoveries and push my boundaries!

The weather conditions couldn’t of been better for Munsey and Boda to enjoy an early afternoon roll in the snow! At times it looked as tho the Kodiak brothers might of had a snowball fight, as Boda’s face appeared to of been splattered with a huge snowball!
The boys were extremely active when I stopped by to visit them, as they wrestled around in the fresh snow and explored the slushy ice pond in the Bear Woods.
These photographs were taken on Monday Dec.11th around 12:30 -1:30 pm. My hands began to get very cold after about 30 minutes of exposure to the elements but the bears seemed comfortable playing around in the 20 degree weather. Munsey’s weight is 680 lbs. and Boda’s weight is now 760 lbs.
It appears that Munsey (standing over Boda) has defiantly learned a few new wrestling moves from watching “Animal Plant”! Munsey was holding his own whenever I’ve observed them wrestling!
If you’d like to learn more about Munsey and Boda, I’ll be happy to talk to you this Saturday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. at the Marshfield Mercantile located at 355 S. Central Ave., Marshfield, WI.
Buck’n the System just sounded like a fun title, especially since the artwork has bucks as a theme.
I’ve printed about 25 of each of these little original prints and added water color to enhance the composition.
While traveling this past weekend to Wisconsin Dells to attend an office Christmas party, I packed my art bag and brought a portfolio full of small prints to work on during the drive. These are a sample of two of the prints that I water colored during the car ride to the Dells.
You can view more of my original prints this Saturday Dec. 16th from 11:00 am- 5:00 pm at the Marshfield Mercantile located at 355 S. Central Ave. Marshfield, WI.

If your in the mood for watch Munsey and Boda climbing 30 plus feet into the tree tops, check out this video taken in June 2017!
Boda is the bear highest in the tree tops with Munsey just beneath his brother.
Remember that you can purchase my new book dedicated to the Kodiak Bears and (their adventures climbing tree’s ) on Dec. 16th, at the Marshfield Mercantile located at 355 S. Central Ave. Marshfield, WI. More details will be announced in the near future!
Munsey and Boda continue to flourish under the care of the Marshfield Wildwood Zoo Staff and the watchful eyes of the Marshfield community. As of December 1st, 2017 Munsey’s weight has increased to 680 lbs, while Boda’s weight is now 760 lbs.
My next Kodiak bear book is title “Branch Management”, and offers the reader an opportunity to observe the cubs growth and development focused around their many activities involving the tree’s located in both the Bear Woods and the JP Adler Kodiak Bear Exhibit! I will be selling my Kodiak Bear merchandise at the Marshfield Mercantile on Saturday December 16th.
Watching Boda try to reach for a little dangling tree branch, makes me wonder if he’ll take to the tree tops again in March of 2018. Many of the bears favorite climbing trees were cut down in late October and early November. So the Bear Woods Habitat area has many enrichment options for Munsey and Boda to explore this winter.
A selection of dance themed original prints, etchings, collages, photographic prints and Limited Edition greeting cards will also be sold on Saturday December 2nd at the Marshfield Mercantile during the Holiday Wine Walk.
Please join me on Saturday December 2nd from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. at the Marshfield Mercantile located at 355 S. Central Ave. Marshfield, WI.
I’ve created dance themed artwork to honor my families love of dance! My father is a graduate from Arthur Murray School for Ballroom Dance in Chicago. So my parents were avid Ballroom Dancers. My daughter Katherine is a former student of Main Street Conservatory of Dance. She is also a former Dance Choreographer for the Wisconsin State 4-H Showcase Singers. So the art of dancing has always been in my blood!
